Diverse sono state le attività promosse dall’Associazione Promueve RD in occasione della Giornata Internazionale per l’Eliminazione della Violenza contro le Donne.
Le Sorelle Mirabal ricordate in Campidoglio
Dal cuore di Roma, capitale della Repubblica Italiana, in un clima istituzionale, il Comune di Roma insieme all’Associazione Promueve RD, ha elogiato con il convegno “25 novembre una storia da ricordare” le Sorelle Mirabal. Il convegno si è svolto nella Sala Laudato Si’ (dedicata a Papa Francesco) del Campidoglio Romano.
La presidente di ProMueveRD, Mirtha Racelis Mella, introdusse l’evento e presentó una sintesi sulla vita delle sorelle Mirabal e sugli sforzi dell’Associazione per la sua diffusione. All’evento parteciparono Autorità e Istituzioni dominicane e italiane, Associazioni impegnate nella lotta alla violenza, stampa e rappresentanti della diaspora dominicana in Italia e ospiti internazionali. Con l’illustre partecipazione degli Ambasciatori della Repubblica Dominicana presso la Santa Sede e la Repubblica Italiana S.E. Luis Emilio Montalvo e S.E. Tony Rafúl, rispettivamente accompagnato dal corpo diplomatico, che ha evidenziato la lotta e l’importanza dell’eredità delle Farfalle per la Repubblica Dominicana e per il mondo.
L’evento ha visto anche la partecipazione dell’Onorevole Lavinia Mennuni, in rappresentanza dell’Ufficio del Sindaco, e dei relatori, l’avvocats Fernanda Solórzano, la psicologa María Teresa Benitez, la giornalista Erika Antonelli e il regista Claudio Castana.

Promueve RD Sicilia insieme ad altre Associazioni italiane partecipò in rappresentanza della Repubblica Dominicana con la Storia delle Sorelle Mirabal al convegno “Il filo nero della violenza” a carico di Yanela Grano de Oro, Responsabile di Promueve RD in Sicilia. L’attività si è svolta il 24 novembre 2021 alle ore 16:30 presso la Sala Russo CGIL di Catania.
Inaugurazione de “Il Tempo delle Farfalle” ad Aosta
Il 22 novembre è stata inaugurata presso la Sala d’Arte del Comune di Aosta la Mostra Itinerante “Il Tempo delle Farfalle”, un progetto ideato da Promueve RD per diffondere all’estero la storia delle Sorelle Mirabal e sensibilizzare contro la Non violenza nei confronti della donna.
La mostra comprende una parte storica, che descrive la vita, la lotta e il sacrificio delle Mirabal per la libertà del popolo dominicano; e una parte artistica, dove l’artista dominicano Gérman Pérez, attraverso le sue opere, rappresenta e sensibilizza sul tema. La mostra è stata organizzata dall’Associazione delle Donne Latinoamericane “Uniendo Raíces”, presieduta dalla Sig.ra Miguelina Baldera.
Durante l’inaugurazione, sono state presenti le Autorità della Città di Aosta e della Regione Valle d’Aosta, l’Assessore alle Parità della Regione Aosta, Laura Ottolenghi; il Vice Presidente della Regione Aosta, Assessore allo Sviluppo Economico, Formazione e Lavoro con Responsabilità per le Pari Opportunità, Luigi Giovanni Bertschy. In rappresentanza del Comune di Aosta, il Sindaco Gianni Nuti; l’Assessore alle Politiche Sociali con delega alle Pari Opportunità, Clotilde Forcellati e l’Assessore alla Cultura Samuel Tedesco.
Presente come curatrice di Promueve RD, Ana Amaro, che ha spiegato cosa propone questa iniziativa, ovvero far conoscere la storia delle Sorelle Mirabal e sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sul tema della violenza contro le donne. Erano presenti anche la Comunità dominicana residente nel territorio, e di altre nazionalità, e gli studenti delle scuole superiori.
La Mostra è rimasta aperta fino al 28 novembre di quest’anno.
