Roma, Italia – En el marco solemne de la denominada “Sala del Carroccio” de la Alcaldía de Roma, la Asociación ProMueve RD dio a conocer, con la rueda de prensa «Hay un País en el Mundo», el completo programa de las actividades que se llevarán a cabo durante el Mes de la Patria (del 26 de enero al 9 de marzo) en conmemoración del 179 aniversario de la Independencia Nacional Dominicana, en el que entrelazarán la música, la cultura, la gastronomía de este estupendo país caribeño, una nación ecléctica y multicultural.
Presentando las iniciativas la Presidenta de ProMueve RD Mirtha Racelis Mella subrayó la importancia de la “dominicanidad” sobre todo en las personas residentes en el extranjero, que a pesar de todo siguen llevando en el corazón este sentimiento “sentirse pertenecientes a una nación”.
También compartió con los presentes un interesante escrito en el que describe sus sensaciones al enfrentar este importante periodo que dice relación con la iniciativa de este “Mes de la Patria”. Este año hemos decidido intensificar las actividades, para poder abarcar mayores temas que puedan motivarnos a recordar, que somos un país rico de cultura, de recursos, de gente buena y trabajadora, y sobre todo gente que cree en su País”.
“Y es esta misma convicción y el amor por nuestra Patria, (que nos inculcaron muy fervientemente con su legado nuestros Padres de la Patria) que hace en modo, que todos empujemos hacia una misma dirección: el crecimiento y desarrollo de la denominada “Quisqueya”, “hoy estamos aquí para hacer público nuestro empeño y compromiso, compartirlo con el mundo. Añadió. “Desde la mismísima ciudad de Roma. Cuna de civilizaciones, ejemplo de multiculturalidad histórica, de fe y de devoción por lo que nos pertenece”, concluyó.
Y a propósito de Roma, la Presidente aprovechó además para invitar a la diáspora dominicana residente en Italia (una de las más numeras en el exterior) y a las autoridades dominicanas, a apoyar la propuesta de Italia como Sede de la Expo20/30, resaltando su importancia.
Los saludos institucionales estuvieron a cargo del Embajador de la República Dominicana ante la Santa Sede, Luis Emilio Montalvo, siquiatra y profesor universitario : “No soy un diplomático de carrera”, empezó diciendo, aunque ha servido a su país en diferentes representaciones diplomáticas y en numerosas actividades relacionadas con sus quehacer profesional y universitario, entre ellos una campaña muy exitosa en la lucha contra el Sida.
Asimismo señaló la necesidad de incrementar el turismo “más allá de nuestras estupendas playas”, señaló, aludiendo al turismo religioso, ya que en la República Dominicana se construyó la primera iglesia del continente, por citar solo un ejemplo”, agregó.
Mensaje del Presidente del Instituto Duartiano el Sr. Wilson S. Gómez Ramírez, con motivo de la apertura de las Celebraciones del Mes de la Patria en la ciudad de Roma.
La actriz Iris Peynado, desde hace muchos años residente en Italia recordó cómo ha ido aumentando en las última décadas la presencia dominicana en Italia: “cuando yo llegué los dominicanos se contaban con los dedos de una mano, mientras ahora ya hay una gran cantidad de personas que con tesón, imaginación, trabajo y dedicación han ido haciendo notar su presencia en este país”.
Por su parte Maribel Peguero, Vicepresidente de ProMueve RD agradeció todo el apoyo recibido para esta iniciativa a partir de la Municipalidad de Roma, a todos los presentes y colaboradores.
